Wisdom of the Elders is proud to share upcoming events and opportunities from our friends at the Portland Indigenous Marketplace. This grassroots nonprofit provides vital space for Indigenous artists, entrepreneurs, and culture-bearers to share their work with the community.
The next Indigenous Marketplace will be held at the Electric Blocks on August 23–24 from 10 am–4 pm. This is the final marketplace before October and will feature more than 30 artists each day. It’s a chance to support Native-owned businesses, connect with the community, and enjoy handmade art and goods. Free street parking and public transit make it easy to attend.
In addition to marketplaces, Portland Indigenous Marketplace is raising funds for its future home at 737 SE Sandy Blvd. Their “Raise the Roof” GoFundMe campaign will help repair the roof, putting them in a stronger position to secure grant funding and grow their vision for a community hub. On September 7th, they will also host the Photo Booth for the Future Fundraiser, an event filled with photo opportunities, workshops, raffles, and family activities designed to support this effort.
Wisdom of the Elders encourages our community to support the Portland Indigenous Marketplace—whether by attending events, donating to their campaigns, or spreading the word. Together, we can help strengthen a space where Indigenous voices, culture, and economic growth thrive.
