Greetings friends and supporters of Wisdom of the Elders!
As Winter has come to an end we are ready to Spring into action. We are so happy to announce a few exciting updates and opportunities to connect.
Wisdom Workforce Development
First of all, we are excited to welcome a new cohort to our Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge Internship March 18th! For our Spring internship we have selected four wonderful community members who are looking forward to fostering their interest in land stewardship. Please welcome Charles, Isaiah, Carmelina and Rowan.
We can’t wait to work with our interns in partnership with Zenger Farm, Native Gathering Garden, Wombyn’s Wellness Garden, Rěvette Du Val, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, Leach Botanical Garden, and Trail Keepers of Oregon. Thank you to our partners for creating pathways for real community members to join such a vital workforce. Interns, we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you will do and support you along your journey!
We are honored to welcome you.

Clean drinking water for Great Spirit United Methodist Church
Changing Native Food Economies has granted us an opportunity to install a reverse osmosis water purification system for our community that utilizes the Great Spirit United Methodist Church where Wisdom of the Elders is housed.
This water purification system is a wonderful gift for so many of our Native communities and partners that gather here to mobilize in this space. We are happy that clean drinking water will benefit all who visit the church from drum groups to wellness circles and for all of the visitors, elders and our children.
We thank Changing Native Food Economies for their generosity and efforts to preserve and maintain our economy, health and Native culture. We also want to thank Kingsley, Burns Paiute Tribal member and Lake St. Martin First Nation, from Vancouver Gutter Service for a perfect installation of the water purification system.

Wisdom of the Elders will be hosting a pick up for our plants which will be at Brentwood-Darlington Community Center on May 2nd and 3rd.
Thank you to all who have ordered from our plant sale!
We are also looking for volunteers to assist us on May 2nd and 3rd to help pass out the purchased plants to our amazing buyers! We will be at Brentwood Darlington Community Center in the parking lot. Please click here to sign up to volunteer with Wisdom of the Elders.
Each volunteer will be entered in a raffle. Our top two prizes are from Garnish Apparel! The first prize is a Personal Stylist Appointment. Our second prize is a Private Shopping Party. Each opportunity will include $100 store credit. We hope to score success with our future volunteers!

Wisdom of the Elders has finished hibernating for the Winter. We can’t wait to get our hands back in the green earth and reconvene with our partners to continue our mission with integrity, strength, community care and pure grit.
Thank you to all of Wisdom’s supporters. We couldn’t pursue the mission of our ancestors and beloved community members without you.
