Give!Guide season is in full swing, and Wisdom of the Elders is honored to be featured once again among Portland’s most impactful nonprofits. This annual campaign helps connect our mission with new supporters, younger donors, and community members who believe in uplifting Indigenous wisdom, culture, and environmental stewardship.

Film Screening

On December 27th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Wisdom of the Elders will host a special film screening and potluck fundraiser at Great Spirit Methodist Church in Portland, Oregon.

During the event, we’ll be encouraging guests to help us continue the Give!Guide energy by spreading the word, sharing our campaign page, and—if you’re able—making a year-end contribution to strengthen our programming.

Your Give!Guide support helps fuel:

  • ITEK Internships and Education Programming

  • Cultural preservation with the Indigenous Archive Initiative

  • Environmental restoration and climate resilience programs

  • Film production that amplifies Native voices

Whether you give $10 or $100, every donation through Give!Guide moves us closer to our goals and helps ensure a strong start to 2025.

Why This Screening Matters

Wisdom of the Elders continues to produce films that uplift Indigenous stories, environmental knowledge, cultural teachings, and the voices of elders. This screening offers a unique opportunity to see our work on the big screen, engage with our mission, and contribute to the programs that preserve and pass forward Indigenous wisdom for future generations.

Your presence helps support:

  • Environmental restoration and climate resilience education
  • Indigenous youth programming
  • First Foods Seeds Library
  • First Foods Gardens
  • Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge projects
  • Indigenous Archive Initiative
  • Film production that centers Native voices and stories

We encourage everyone to bring a favorite dish to share.

Whether it’s a cherished family recipe, comfort food, or something simple, the potluck is a chance to break bread together and enjoy the warmth of community.

A few ideas for what to bring:

  • Entrées
  • Salads
  • Breads
  • Desserts
  • Beverages (non-alcoholic)

Please label dishes if they are vegan, gluten-free, or contain common allergens.
