Celebrating Our Ongoing Partnership with the Johnson Creek Watershed Council

Wisdom of the Elders is honored to continue our long-standing collaboration with the Johnson Creek Watershed Council, a partnership that began in 2010 and has supported meaningful education grounded in Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge. Together, we help create hands-on learning experiences that connect community members with the land, water, and restoration practices that sustain healthy ecosystems.

We are grateful to work alongside Noah Jenkins, Riparian Program Manager at JCWC. Noah has been with the Council since 2005 and brings deep expertise in native plants, invasive species management, and streamside restoration. His dedication and thoughtful guidance have strengthened this partnership and supported the success of many projects over the years.

Community support plays an important role in making work like this possible. We are proud to participate once again in Willamette Week’s Give!Guide.

As part of this year’s campaign, we are raising funds specifically for our ITEK Internship; our Seeds of Resiliency project, which maintains a seed bank of native plants stewarded for the Indigenous community; the Indigenous Archive Initiative; the Indigenous Storytellers Association; and general operating expenses, including staff salaries. These contributions help sustain programs that uplift cultural education, ecological restoration, and collaborative stewardship.

We invite our community to join us in supporting this work during the giving season.
