Greetings Friends of Wisdom

We hope you all have had a great year so far and have been enjoying Fall in all her beautiful colors!

We want to say thank you to all who have sent in donations throughout this year to help sustain the work we do here at Wisdom.
Your support is vital to our programs as it helps us continue to build and refine our educational curriculum, produce more films, and restore the archived materials we have so we can share them back to the Tribes, as well as educational institutions and to the general public at future film screenings.

We would also like to invite you all to check in with our Willamette Weekly Give Guide campaign! This donation campaign helps us keep our wonderful programs growing strong.

Give Guide November 2022 Newsletter
As this is Native American month and today is Veterans day, I would like to send out a thank you to all Veterans and my fellow Native American Veterans. We send our prayers and thoughts to those who have family members who are or were Veterans. Thank you for your service.

Wisdom’s Traditional Ecological Knowledge

TEK Internships

Wisdom’s Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) Internship classes are going strong right now. Our yearly internships provide a way to learn about the local environment and provide a way to gain employment skills in the environmental sector. Our focus is on how to help mitigate any damage and to enhance the land and help our environment without chemicals of any kind through the understanding and use of Traditional First Foods.
We have had interns hired by our teams as well as with some of our partners over the years. To be able to provide work skills training is a great way to be of service to our local community.

We have received many requests to extend our Traditional Ecological Knowledge Internships. Currently, we have been able to extend the internship to a 12-week period and would love to be able to offer them twice a year for additional weeks. We are working towards getting all of our curriculum up to the required state standards so we can offer the lessons to public schools.

Our partnerships with Zenger Farms and BES, East and West Multnomah Soil and Water Districts, and Johnson Creek Watershed have been quite productive this year. We are grateful to all of our partners throughout our Metro area for a great year.

Thank you all for your continued support.
