Karrie Young is from Portland, Oregon, and is a proud member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. Her life’s work is deeply intertwined with her Native heritage and the service of others. In addition to her role at Wisdom of the Elders, Karrie provides care for Native American Elders, ensuring that their traditions and stories continue to be honored and preserved. She also actively contributes to the Portland Indigenous Market Place, a vital space that uplifts Indigenous artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural practitioners.
