Wisdom Workforce Development interns are continuing to plant Native species in the buffer below Zenger Farm, the organic farm and Urban Grange on SE Foster Road. The environmental

WWD and volunteersassessments and the plant design were developed this past year by Wisdom’s cohort of spring interns, Native elders from the Portland area, Wisdom staff and Landscape Architect Lora Price.

This past month, our team had the opportunity to work with groups of students from local schools including a group of home schooled students. The experience was a special highlight for our team. They have enjoyed a number of rich service learning activities at Zenger Farm, Foster Floodplain, Johnson Creek, Indian Creek Natural Area, Kelly Butte Natural Area and other sites this spring support from Portland Parks and Recreation, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, Zenger Farm and other site partners.

This has been a great learning experience for both of our teams of interns and Wisdom. We express appreciation for funding generously provided by Metro, East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District, East Portland Action Plan and Portland Development Commission.
