Are you passionate about connecting people with nature and eager to help a growing nonprofit expand its impact? Cascadia Wild is seeking a Development and Outreach Lead to support our community science initiatives through fundraising, partnership development, corporate sponsorship, and volunteer engagement.

About the Role

This part-time, contract position (20 hours per week at $24/hour) offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in Cascadia Wild’s growth. The position is currently funded through the end of the year, with an expectation of renewal and potential to expand into a full-time role.

The ideal candidate will be innovative, highly organized, and passionate about wildlife conservation. While much of the work can be done remotely, in-person engagements in the Portland area are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnership Development: Build new partnerships for the Wolverine Tracking Project to drive membership and engagement.
  • Grants & Fundraising: Research grant opportunities, write proposals, and help coordinate an annual December fundraising drive.
  • Corporate Sponsorship: Develop relationships with corporate partners to secure sponsorships, funding, and team-building programs.
  • Donor & Volunteer Engagement: Cultivate relationships with members, donors, and potential major contributors. Maintain accurate records.
  • Outreach & Community Engagement: Expand awareness by reaching out to relevant organizations, organizing tabling events, and overseeing social media efforts.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Passion for wildlife conservation and connecting people with nature
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to a dynamic nonprofit environment

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience in nonprofit work, fundraising, or outreach
  • Proficiency in social media for marketing purposes
  • Experience leading outdoor group activities
  • Familiarity with Pacific Northwest wildlife (tracking skills a plus)
