Dear Wisdom Community,
Happy Holidays!
As we move into Holiday Season, we continue our Wisdom of the Elders Winter Fundraising Drive.
We kicked off last month with #GivingTuesday, and thanks to your generosity we raised a little over $200! We are so grateful for your support of our organization and our work.
>>>>Our Winter Drive will continue on the rest of this month of DECEMBER, and we have set a fundraising goal of $2,000 — we hope to meet this goal by December 31st with your help!
As an organization dedicated to preserving Native American cultural awareness, cultural sustainability, multimedia education, and race reconciliation — we ask that you partner with us this month so that we can continue making an impact as an organization that supports and serves Oregon’s Native American Communities.
We will be raffling off a few copies of our Native Wisdom DVDs to those who participate and donate to us as a token of gratitude for your support!
Message from Executive Director, Gerry RainingBird
The Season of Generosity
In many of our tribal traditions, winter was and is always the time for quiet reflection of our connectedness to all of our relatives, from the youngest to the oldest, from the ones that grow as roots, plants and flowers, to the ones that swim, fly, and walk the sacred grounds of mother earth. It was and continues to be a time for storytelling, with each story being filled with special lessons about our life purpose, cultural values, sacred relationships, and being mindful of how we honor our special gifts.
One of the most important is the gift of generosity and as we take this time to reflect, Wisdom again expresses our gratitude for your support in our efforts to sustain the good work of our programs. We also encourage you to continue the practice caring for one another, and if you can, we encourage you to give, to share, and remember the gift of generosity,
With Gratitude
– Gerry
